A Lecture by Professor Itamar Rabinovich.
On November 4 1995 a right wing Israeli fanatic assassinated Israel’s PM Yitzhak Rabin in order to stop the Oslo peace process with the Palestinians. From the perspective of twenty years’ distance, Professor Itamar Rabinovich, Rabin’s ambassador in Washington and chief negotiator with Syria, will examine the assassination’s impact on Israel’s domestic policy and on Israel’s relations with the Palestinians and the larger Middle East. Professor Rabinovich’s biography of Rabin will be published by Yale University Press in the winter of 2017.
Co-Sponsored by the Scuola di Scienze Politiche “Cesare Alfieri”, Università di Firenze
