Antonella Costantino

Antonella Costantino is a Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatrist, working in a community based public health child and adolescent neuropsychiatric service in a University hospital in Milan, Lombardia, Italy.
Her main fields of interests are family-centered services for child and adolescent neuropsychiatric disorders; migrant children and adolescent mental health; intensive outreach teams in severe adolescent psychiatric disorders, augmentative and alternative communication; outcome evaluation and network building in the community. She is consultant and advisor for Child and Adolescent Mental Health for the Italian Ministry of Health and for Regione Lombardia, and Contract Professor in Child and Adolescents Neuropsychiatry, University of Milan. She has published over 60 scientific publications in national and international journals and 2 books.

Perri Klass, MD

Perri Klass is Professor of Journalism and Pediatrics at New York University and Co-Director of NYU Florence; her most recent books are A Good Time to Be Born: How Science and Public Health Gave Children a Future, a study of the decline in infant and child mortality, and the effects on parenting, pediatrics, culture, and society, and Quirky Kids: Understanding and Supporting Your Child With Developmental Differences, coauthored with Eileen Costello, M.D. Dr. Klass writes the weekly column, “The Checkup,” for the New York Times. She is the National Medical Director of Reach Out and Read, which works through pediatric primary care to promote reading aloud to young children.

Stefania Manetti, MD
PRIMARY CARE PEDIATRICIAN, CAMPANIA, ITALY; NATIONAL BOARD, NATI PER LEGGERE
Dr. Manetti is an Italian Family Pediatrician, who has worked for the Italian National Health System since September 1986 in the Campania Region. In 1999, through the Italian Cultural Association of Pediatricians, she became involved with the “Nati per Leggere” program. In 2004 together with another pediatrician, Pasquale Causa, she produced the first NpL book for 6-month-old children, with pictures of different children’s faces, Guarda che faccia!! The children were all Dr. Manetti’s patients. The book is used widely by pediatricians during well child visits to promote reading in families. In recent years her collaboration with the “Nati per Leggere” program has grown, and she is now on the national NpL board, working on strategies necessary to reach the most underserved families.

Terri McFadden, MD

Dr. McFadden is a General Pediatrician and a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine. She is also the Director of primary care initiatives with PARTNERS for Equity in Child and Adolescent Health and an attending physician in the Primary Care Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Hughes Spalding Campus. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics where she recently served on the Executive Committee of the national Council on Early Childhood and currently serves as Immediate Past President of the Georgia Chapter. Her academic and professional interests include health equity, early childhood adversity, comprehensive care for the underserved, childhood injury prevention, early literacy/early brain development, and medical education. She is a graduate of Spelman College and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Jenny Radesky, MD
DEVELOPMENTAL BEHAVIORAL PEDIATRICIAN; ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PEDIATRICS, UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN MEDICAL SCHOOL
Dr. Radesky is a Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Michigan Medical School. She received her M.D. from Harvard Medical School, trained at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center, and her clinical work focuses on autism, ADHD, and advocacy. Her NIH-funded research focuses on the use of mobile and interactive technology by parents and young children. She was the lead author of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) policy statements Media and Young Minds in 2016 and Digital Advertising to Children in 2020.

Laura Reali, MD

Dr. Reali is an Italian Primary Care Pediatrician, working in Rome since 1985 for the Italian National Health System in her outpatient clinic. She is the Advisor on Medical Education for the Italian Cultural Association of Pediatricians, the Vice President of the European Confederation for Primary Care Pediatricians (ECPCP) and the Lazio President of the International Society of Doctors for the Environment (ISDE).
She is a Contract Professor in Pediatric Primary Care at the Catholic Sacred Heart University of Rome and covers primary care pediatrics, bioethics, environmental diseases and medical training. She has published over 40 scientific publications in national and international journals and 4 books.

David J Schonfeld, MD
DIRECTOR OF THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR SCHOOL CRISIS AND BEREAVEMENT, CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL LOS ANGELES; PROFESSOR OF CLINICAL PEDIATRICS, KECK SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Dr. Schonfeld established and directs the National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement (www.schoolcrisiscenter.org), located at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He is Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Keck School of Medicine. For over 30 years, he has provided consultation and training to schools on supporting students and staff at times of crisis and loss in the aftermath of numerous school crisis events and disasters within the United States and abroad, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Schonfeld frequently speaks on the topics of crisis and loss and has authored more than 150 scholarly articles, book chapters, and books. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Children and Disasters and the National Biodefense Science Board. He served as a Commissioner for both the National Commission on Children and Disasters and the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission in CT. He served as President of the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics from 2006-7.
