RSF. Rivista di studi di fotografia is a new Italian journal devoted to the study of photography through its sources, history, social applications and theories. The aim of this journal is to explore the relationship between photography, in all its forms, and other fields of inquiry. RSF seeks to offer an authoritative voice both nationally and internationally for the study of Italian photography within the context of current theoretical debate and international artistic production.

Tiziana Serena
ART HISTORIAN
Tiziana Serena is an historian of art, specializing in the cultural history of hotography. Vice-president of the Italian Society for studies on photography, and Chief Editor of the peer-reviewed journal “RSF. Rivista di studi di fotografia”, she is Associate Professor at the University of Florence. Her recent publications in English include: the book edited with C. Caraffa, The Photo Archive and the Idea of Nation (2015); and the following essays: “Catastrophe and Photography as a ‘double reversal’: The 1908 Messina and Reggio Earthquake and the Album of the Italian Photographic Society”, in The Wounded City. The Representation of Urban Disasters in European Art (14th-20th Centuries), ed. by Marco Folin, Monica Preti Hammard, pp. 137-163 (Brill 2015); “Photography and the Museum: collections of ideas”, in Sette fotografi a Brera, a cura di Sandrina Bandera, Cecilia Ghibaudi, Giorgio Zanchetti, pp. 40-59 (Skirà 2014).

Antonello Frogia
RESEARCHER
Antonello Frongia is a Researcher in Modern Art History at Università di Roma Tre. He earned a PhD in History of Architecture and Urbanism at Cornell University. His research interests concern mainly urban photography and the cultural history of photography. He curated several exhibitions and his publications include: Il luogo e la scena: la città come testo fotografico, in Luogo e identità nella fotografia italiana contemporanea (Einaudi 2013); La soglia museale: storia, ricerca e istituzioni della fotografia negli Stati Uniti, in Per un museo della fotografia a Roma (Postmedia books 2012). With Tiziana Serena he co-edits RSF. Rivista di studi di fotografia.

Alessandra Capodacqua
PHOTOGRAPHER
Alessandra Capodacqua is a photographer, a teacher of photography, and a curator of exhibitions. She teaches photography at New York University, Florida State University, Studio Arts Center International, IED and Fondazione Studio Marangoni. She has curated various exhibitions of photography and participated in the creation of festivals of photography in Italy and abroad. Her photographs are in private and public collections, including the Galleria degli Uffizi in Florence.
