Moderated by Justin Randolph Thompson, The Recovery Plan
Decolonial Rome: weaving together history and memory amongst Black Italians is a presentation and dialogue with Davide Valeri discussing field work done in Rome amongst Black Italians that seeks to gain insight to concerns and considerations of these communities in relation to signifiers of colonial history in the city of Rome and contemporary politics. The presentation presents insight to critical histories and methodologies for the dissemination of practices for reclaiming public space and sharing the history of colonial violence.
Davide Valeri is an Italian-Ethiopian sociologist. His research interests concern ethnic-racial discrimination, hate speech and multiculturalism in sports and European politics.
