(Event Open to NYU Florence community only)

A tour of the exhibition with Francesca Baldry, Collection Manager, and Lisa Cesarani, NYU Researcher, followed by a conversation, and a light lunch.

The Harold Acton, Oxford, and the Twenties exhibition begins with Harold’s interests and exploits as a student at Oxford (1922-1926) and then moves through the period of his travels between London, Paris and Florence and ends at the moment just before he decides to go off to China in the early 1930s. Using the Twenties as a lens, the research project focuses on Harold as a young writer finding his literary voice while also contextualizing his life through the company of classmates, friends, and luminaries of the world of art and literature in Europe that will ultimately help to shape both his writing and identity.

As part of the Museum Meetings program.
