The Adventures of the Acton Boys – A collaborative exhibition

So self-contained did we feel behind our massive gates that we had little incentive to go to town. We spent a lot of time in the garden, the resources of which were interminable. (Acton, Memoirs, 11)

Using primary sources from the family, photographs, books, toys, costumes, the villa itself and the gardens, NYU students gained insights into the lives of the two Acton boys during their childhood at Villa La Pietra. Their research will be presented through a temporary display in the original day nursery, co-curated by the students with Francesca Baldry, Collection Manager, Villa La Pietra NYU Florence, and Lisa Cesarani, Researcher NYU Florence.
