A Dialogue with
Nathan Bertelsen
NYU College of Global Public Health
Tina Di Feliciantonio and Jane Wagner
Filmmakers, Naked Eye Productions
At this time of unprecedented population movements and conflict across the Mediterranean and the world, migration is everywhere, and growing fast. With examples of forced migration in New York City, Turkey and Europe, Dr. Nathan Bertelsen will examine three waves of physical and mental health needs of refugees and asylum-seekers, as they aim to live healthy lives in both transition and destination countries. Recognizing that Turkey now hosts more refugees than anywhere else in the world, his talk will highlight the health needs of Syrians in Turkey within the context of the growing conflict in Turkey, Europe, and the Middle East. Migrants will also share their own stories in video clips from MSF and Naked Eye Productions.
